Armour’s Hotel in Tennessee USA

I still haven’t had the time to sit and add up how many kilometer I traveled to complete my project “40 Festivals in 40 Weeks”. You can add estimates in the comment section.

In any case, it will be quite a number. Not only kilometers, but I also stayed in quite a number of hotel rooms. I tested all the mattresses by jumping on them. Many of them I didn’t commit to my memory, but some of them I will never forget.

For instance, the Amicalola Falls State Park Lodge in Georgia, overlooking the National Park, or my suite at Jade Mountain Resort on a black Vulcan sand in the Caribic, or the Armour’s Hotel in Red Boiling Springs. Some will now Google to find out where it is – it’s in Tennessee close to Nashville.

I have to admit, you will not find Red Boiling Springs on top of the list of places to visit on your next USA trip, but if you are looking for something special and charming, then you should definitely go there. Debra and her husband Dennis have a one of a kind hotel in Tennessee. Each room has its own theme. There is a “Peach Room” where everything is decorated in soft orange flowers or the “Patriotic Room”. Guests gather for family style breakfast and evening dinner is available as well. Especially if you travel on your own, it is so welcome to have this family atmosphere.

Red Boiling Springs is also knows for its mineral wells, and the hotel in Tennessee USA is the only one that offers mineral bath. While it does stink like rotten eggs, it makes your skin as soft as a baby’s bottom.

Some say that there are some ghosts in this house. I did not meet any dead children that wanted to play with me. After staying at so many impersonal hotel chains, it was just absolutely great to find such a personal, charming and authentic – one of a kind hotel.
